Spam
I'm sorry to say folks the spammers have had a victory, I've turned
the dreaded word verification back on, I could cope with 4 or 5
visits by "Anonymous" per day but suddenly it's 130 messages per
day at any one of my three sites, time to call "time out."
If you haven't tried the little wheelchair icon it's better than trying
to decipher the weird hierogyphics WV uses instead of letters, here
they have a team of partialy trained monkeys read you some
numbers to type into the window.

Hi Peter, I went to look at Jen & Cazs site, but it wanted me to click an activeX control, and when I did IE did a shutdown on me. So I couldnt hear anything, but I could look okay when I didn't click yes.

I use it too even though it's a royal pain.
I tried the audio verification but couldn't understand the letters.
Went back to guessing at the actual code.
Wow, 130 a day ... that's some evil spamming !!! I think the majority of us have the WV on for this reason, even though it is such a pain. Oh well, for the sake of a spamless life, we can all type a few weird letters. No big deal.

WOW, I am impressed. Most I ever got was 10 per day.
I get about three or four a day. Still it is annoying and over a hundred would have me swearing and you know I don't do that.
So far, I've been lucky since I've turned off word verification. I get a few here and there, but not many.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I can't believe you got 130!!! I got a couple so I immediately turned my WV on. And listen....I tried listening to those little trained monkeys read the numbers and it's not so easy to understand them either.
What I do when I can't figure out the letters I just punch in one letter and hit the post button and I get new letters.
I don't mind doing word verification either, and like AIP, I know I'll get another chance with maybe an easier combination if I muck up the first (or even second) time.
