There has been a lot of interest shown in the beautiful Jacaranda trees
that are common to a lot of the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.
Originally from South America and South Africa they are a hardy tree
that seems to flourish along our Eastern Coast and the milder inland
climates, from Meditaranion to Sub Tropical seems OK, it doesn't like
frost so the areas that are snowbound in winter in the USA probably
are unsuitable, anywhere between California and Florida however would
more than likley be suitable.
Certainly worth Googleing them and enquiring at your local nursery,
they grow into a large tree of up to 30 feet and are the perfect
specimen tree in a large lawn.
Hope to hear that a lot of people have planted a Jacaranda tree,
unbeatable for an avenue along a roadside, (not on the side with
overhead power cables though.)

I like those Jacaranda trees. You're going to laugh now but when I saw the pics of the trees I thought there was something wrong with the picture but then when reading your previous posts I realised the blue tint was the colour of the trees!!! Well, I have only just got up. They are nice trees though.
Great photos of the jacarandas, Peter. We have three on the property and it seems everyone else around us has them too, because we can see purple everywhere!
I love the "carpet" under the trees and yet I have heard people whinge and moan about the "mess". They have no souls!

The trees are beautiful. I wonder if they're similar to what we call a wisteria. They seem to be the same color.
we have an early blooming tree around here that is lavender. I'm going to try and find out what it is!
