Tribute to Ol' Hoss

Can you believe it is one year ago today March 7 since we lost one of the all time great "B**ggers"

I speak of the much loved "old horsetail snake" aka Ol' Hoss or simply Hoss to his hundreds of loyal readers, we mourn your passing Hoss but I suspect that you have taken up a window seat in your celestial home and will be watching over us today and always.

Can any of us who read his posts ever forget his loathing of "Buttcrack", his love of "Dung Beetles" or his obsession about "Making his pile"??
We are sad that you are no longer here to cheer us up when we need a boost but we are most thankful for all the humor and wisdom you passed on to us while you were here.

RIP Hoss (Gene Maudlin) 1933 - 2009

The easy way to lift your car

Using the Dolly Parton car Jack, the tyre may be flat but nothing else is.

Hi all, I must apologize for being so tardy in getting around my blogroll of late I've
managed to read a few every now and again but haven't really had time to comment much,
I will probably have a bit of spare time over the weekend and will try to get a few
comments out, I hope I am forgiven???
My thoughts are out there with you all and both Vicki and myself are very grateful for
the continued support, hope I can give you some good news soon.

Another health update

A very proud Dad and his lovely Daughter

Hi all, the appointment with the specialist has come and gone for Vicki, I’m sorry to report there is still very little that is definite from him though.

Cushing’s disease has been definitely confirmed, but I’m at a loss to understand whether this has caused the tumor or the tumor is the reason for Cushing’s, there have been more tests scheduled to help plan the best treatment course, one can only say that they are being very thorough which is no doubt best in the long run but it is starting to get very drawn out.

Partly because of the farm work that Rex has to get on with, I have decided to fly to Adelaide on Sunday so that I’m there for Vicki should Rex need to get home (don’t forget that is 600 klm away from Adelaide with no air service) this may save Vicki a return trip if she needs to keep doctors appointments.

I very much look forward to the day I can write that her surgery is over and she is bouncing back to full health, (we are all confident that day is coming) but at present this is the best that I can do.

Let me once more thank you all for your prayers, kind and supportive words, and for caring enough to pass them on, we love you one and all and will never forget the warmth you have sent to us.

From Vicki, Rex, and Family and from Peter.
