September 4 marks the anniversary of the death of
Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Man)
It would be sad indeed if this anniversary was not remembered by all the people
spread throughout the world who mourned Steve’s passing just 12 months ago.
For such an active member of the worlds animal conservationists to be killed by
the accidental piercing of his heart by a stingray's barb was to say the least an
incongruous way for this folk hero to die.
Steve’s dreams are alive and well in the safekeeping of his family and friends,
all of whom have sworn to keep the Australia Zoo, Animal Hospital and his many
other conservation interests alive.

Steve taught us a lot. I just hope we can remember and act responsbally.

I was a Steve Irwin fan...I'll definitely remember him. It's hard to believe it's been one year already....but I really do miss him. God Bless him. Thanks Peter.
I can't believe it has already been a year since Steve died. We remember him vividly and miss him greatly.
He was quite the charactor with his compassion for nature and its inhabitants and fearlessly bridging the gap between the civilazed world and the untamed world.
I still find it difficult to believe Steve Irwin is no longer with us. It's the 4th not the 5th, Peter...the day he died. I watched the wonderful little Bindi in the show on Saturday's television "My Daddy The Crocodile Hunter"...she is an amazing child. So eloquent, bright and not at all precocious. I found myself welling up with tears every now and then when I watched the show. It was worth watching, though.
Sorry I've been a bit slack lately in catching up with blogs...time has just disappeared on me!

Nice tribute on Steve Irwin.
I'm sure all those who knew of Steve find the world is a much sadder place with his passing at such a young age.
It's great that Terri and family are continuing on with his work.
What more could he had achieved if he had lived??

Peter ~ This really reminds me of when Mrs. LZ and I were in "Australia's Zoo" in Beerwah. It was the cleanest and frankly nicest Zoo I have never been to. (And) I've been to MANY. Steve did not happen to be in the park that particular day that we were there, but I did manage to get Mrs. LZ to get a shot of me with a cardboard mock-up of Steve Irwin. I think I may do a post on it someday. His loss was not just a loss to Australia, it was a loss to the whole WORLD. My granddaughters love to watch his daugther's (Bindy's?) TV Show. She sure does have her dad's "love of animals". Hard to believe it has been a year ago already since that sad day! ~ jb///

Wow! Time has flown by.
I watched one his shows over the weekend.
There's no one else like him!!
His wife and kids have carried on, but I'm sure this year has been difficult for them.
I sure wish he was still with us. His energy, style, and great smile cannot be matched.
That daughter of his is sure a lot like him.
She has his charisma.
It is hard to believe a year has passed already. My heart goes out to his family and to all who worked with him. He was a great conservationist and world citizen.

He was always so upbeat and happy! The world is less without him.
The most endearing people you know have a 'childlike' demeanor. An excitement that comes naturally and never disappears. Steve was one of those. Fun loving for sure and dedicated for sure. Thanks for the reminder Peter.
I always admired Steve- He is missed a lot!
