I love a sunburnt country. A land of sweeping plains. Of ragged mountain ranges. Of droughts and flooding rains.

Mixed nuts.
UPDATE:
More Sydney photos at Peters Pictures.
BTW, I've been asked whether Wazza and
I "climbed the bridge"?
No, we didn't climb the bridge, mainly because they don't allow you to take
photos, (why the hell would you climb it except for the bragging rights with
photos for proof) the second reason (and this one is only a minor point) was that
they offered no guarantee against cardiac arrest, (I mean... fancy that!!!!)
Bondi Beach photos, filched from the internet to replace the missing gems.
A typical day at Bondi, the beach is seldom deserted, the large building in
the background is "The Pavillion".
Buildings on the Beach
Bondi Pavilion: the Pavilion, designed in Mediterranean Georgian Revival style
was opened in 1929 and built at a cost of £100,000. Among the other pavilions
erected at this time, such as those at Balmoral and Cronulla, Bondi is unique as the
grandest. (When woollen swimwear was replaced by synthetics which dried
quickly swimmers no longer required these changing pavilions.) In the 1970’s when
no longer needed as a bathers pavilion it was adapted to become the Bondi
Pavilion Community Cultural Centre with art gallery, theatre, classes and other
cultural activities. A café/gelateria, restaurant and a souvenir shop also operate
out of the Pavilion.
A wide angle view of a typical crowd.

A record is set at Bondi, 1010 Bikini Babes gather for photo-shoot
As well as bringing you this news I also Googled a couple of Bondi photos....
(they aren't as good as mine were, but beggars can't be choosers)
I mentioned the accidental erasing of the photos I took at Bondi, that was
September 27, in "The Daily Telegraph" for that date I found this article
about the gathering together of 1010 bikini clad babes the previous day
(ie) September 26, I mention this only because, had I know about it I
would have been there that day and would have lost an extra 1010 photos....
believe me you would have heard about it long before the blog post.
New Element Discovered.
Research in Australia has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet
known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv) has one neutron,
25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons,
giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are
surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.
Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however it can be detected,
because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.
A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would take less
than a second, to take from four days to four years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2-6 years; It does not decay, but
instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant
neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's
mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause
more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that
Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration.
This hypothetical quantityis referred to as critical morass. when catalyzed
with money Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates
just as much energy as Governmemtium since it has half as many peons but
twice as many morons.

Next time they assemble 1010 bikini babes call me so I can fly down with my camera to LOL
It all looks beautiful down there and I regret not staying longer in Australia.
Yup I got to come back
Up until this minute, You've never disappointed me. But now you tell you missed the record setting day at the beach.
I may or may not be back. I am totally deflated. I may not look deflated, but I am.
The Travel Channel shows Bondi almost every time there is a program on beaches. It looks good to me!
Bondi beach...too crowded for me.
Oh, I do like the Governmentium find, especially with all those morons...now I know where they come from...the Governmentorium where there is a special laboratory for inert specimens.
are you talking bout the bridge from previous post ???
I also was over on your picture blog and I was wondering about the one picture looking down at the shops... and there were a line that said "witchery"
??? what was that?
Peter, you put together one aesthetically pleasing blog, sir. Great pics as usual.
Peter ~ Hey buddy... you have so much stuff on this post that I don't know where to begin. First I really like the new template header. What a great looking family you have there! As for Bondi... too bad I missed the record bikini day! Ah... maybe next time! Cheers mate! ~ jb///
