Sorry Post (will try to do better next time)

A new Game for the Aussie BBQ.

First one to get out loses, but at least they don't get boiled alive.

My Aboriginal mate at Cunnamulla was very impressed with Kevin 07's apology about the stolen generations that he thought a response was in order..... he jumped to his feet and in a loud voice replied....

To all you white Aussies

All us Black Fella's are sorry too, but we know nuttin’ ‘bout no stolen generators.

And for anyone who expected there would be financial gains from Mr Rudd's apology... we are all sorry!!

Brisbane’s Climate.

August 31st

Just got transferred by my work into our new home in Brisbane! Now this is a city that knows how to live! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! I watched the sunset from a deck-chair on the verandah. It was beautiful. I’ve finally found my home. I love it here.

September 13th

Really heating up. Got to 30 today. Not a problem, live in an air-conditioned house, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I’m turning into a sun worshipper.

September 30th

Had the backyard landscaped with tropical plants today, lots of palms and rocks. What a breeze to maintain, no more mowing lawns for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it he

October 10th

The temperature hasn’t been below 30 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least today it’s kinda windy though. But getting used to heat is taking longer than I expected.

October 15th

Fell asleep by the pool. Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body, missed 3 days of work, what a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson though, got to respect the ol’ sun in a climate like this.

October 20th

I missed kitty (our cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car for lunch, Kitty had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stank up the genuine leather upholstery. I told the kids that she ran away. The car now smells like Wiskettes and cat shit. I learned my lesson though, no more pets in this heat.

October 25th

The wind sucks. It feels like a giant bloody blow dryer, and it’s hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the blink and the AC repairman charged me $200 just to drive over and tell me he needed to order parts.

October 30th

Been sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now, Bloody $450,000 house and we can’t even go inside. Why did I ever come here?

November 4th

Its 35 degrees! Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today, it cost $500 and gets the temperature down to 25 degrees, but this bloody humidity makes the house feel like it’s about 30 degrees. Stupid repairman. I hate this stupid place

November 8thIf another wise arse cracks, “Hot enough for you today?” I’m going to strangle him. Bloody heat! By the time I got to work the cars radiator was boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet and I smell like baked cat!

November 9th

Tried to run some messages after work. Wore shorts, sat on the black leather upholstery in the car. I thought my arse was on fire, I lost 2 layers of skin and all the hair from the back of my legs. Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried arse and baked cat.

November 10th

The weather report might as well be a bloody recording. Hot and sunny, Hot and sunny, Hot and sunny. It’s been too hot to do anything for 2 damn months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn’t it ever rain in this damn place? Water restrictions will be next, so my $2,000 worth of palms just might dry up and blow into the bloody pool. Even the palms can’t live in this heat.

November 14th

Welcome to HELL. Temperature got to 38 degrees today. Now the air-conditioner’s gone in my car. The repairman came to fix and said, “Hot enough for you today?” My wife had to spend the $2,500 house payment to bail my arse out of jail for assaulting the repairman. Bloody Brisbane. What kind of sick demented idiot would want to live here?

December 1st

WHAT?? Just heard on the TV that this is the first day of SUMMER! They have to be kidding!!

Here in Gympie its usually a bit hotter than Brisbane, and summer is on the way!!!!!

For those of you who can't be bothered looking up the conversion factors, here they are.... we aim to please.
The 22 to 32 zone represents a comfortable temperature, above that the humidity levels really kick in and it becomes a sweat box.

Sounds like Florida, USA, but our summer is just ending and we had our first taste of fall this weekend. Nice relief from the heat!

I was all set to move to Brisbane, but on second thought maybe our 98 degree and raining days are not so bad. And for us conversion-challenged readers, just how dang hot is 35?

Stolen generators...heheh! I like that one.

Brisbane's not hot! The climate is lovely here...if you don't mind sweating every time you do so much as blink. Anyway isn't sweating supposed to be good for us, getting rid of toxins from our bodies...you know, like all the alcohol we imbibed the night before.

Hi Peter ~~ A lot of Sorrys in this post.
35 C if 95 F and getting darn hot, but it gets hotter. I liked the stolen generators also. Thanks for the Recipe tip which I have bookmarked. John is in Bussellton at present. He tried to catch up with Marcus without luck but will try again, he's there a couple more days and going on to see Perth and Jacqui.
Take care, Love, Merle.

Funny story about the heat. I once read the cold weather variation of the tale. Either way, it is funny. Maybe it is the accent. chuckle.

LOL! I hear you about that heat! We had some days over 40 last year! At least here though we always get the afternoon sea breeze, if we don't we just head for the beach and stay there till the sun goes down.

Wow... those temps are outrageous! Which zone are you in?

That's one hell of a way to warm up the family jewels.
Does that mean their offspring will be born with a tan or just farting steam?

glad you got my emails...finally!

we have some very hot summer weather here. We saw 113 one day this summer. When I drove home from work my face baked before I the air conditioner kicked in.

But, it doesn't stay that way long.

We actually had a lovely summer and fall. I didn't cook any drunks, tho.

Love the roaster tub!
Ouch!! Burns the bohunkus!!!

So, I take it is gets HOT as Hades. It's not a good kind of hot if you're sleeping by the pool just to keep from sweating to death. Funny story.

There are lots of jacaranda trees in southern california. They are so beautiful.
