Farwell South Australia

Some final images and thoughts on my stay in SA.

Please click on photos to enbiggen.

This is the mighty Murray River upstream from the final weir to regulate the water level, beyond this point the situation changes dramatically with levels barely waist deep in places and the freshwater lake Alexandrina almost dry only constant dredging has kept the river mouth open in recent drought years.

Adelaide's parks and gardens are home to some of the most beautiful "Gum Trees" to be found anywhere in the world.

The lovely old grandstand at Kensington oval has been the venue for sporting events for over 100 years now.

While these terraced houses are not typical of all the suburbs it does give a glimpse of how this area must have looked last century (minus the cars!!)

Vicki and Rex presented me with this lovely 3 D seascape, it was much appreciated although unnecessary.

The next leg of my journey is over, I am now at my sisters in Shepparton, Merle is not too well she has lots of back and leg pain (does this sound at all familiar Vicki?) as Merle's son John is very attentive and lives close by I haven't offered my caring services.
My plans from here include visiting a few friends, of the personal and blogging variety, before finishing up at Warren's for a couple of days over Easter.... then home to Gympie at last!!!!

Drive safely, Peter ... it's a long way home (we drove Cairns to Melbourne last week ... Monday to Thursday !!!). We are off to Bright in the morning for a week of R&R, then home briefly to grab the camper, then off to the Vic High Country for the Easter Break. Hope you have a great Easter Peter ... Please give Merle a big hug for me, too. Thanks. Take care, Connie xx

Peter, your trip must have been a wonderful one. Anytime we get to spend time with our children can be a blessing.

It looks as though Vicki and Rex are doing well.

Give Merle a gentle hug from Maryann and me.

I will continue to send Reiki energy to you and all of your family. Hope it is helpful.

Have a safe journey back home.

Great photos.

I like the sailboat painting. Tell Merle to get better and give her a kiss from me. Stay safe in your travels.

I think that's a beautiful 3-D!

I really hate it about those fires.

Whaaaaat! You're actually coming back to Qld? It's good news, though, in that Vicki must be heaps better. What a relief for you. Maybe we can catch up for coffee whilst you're at Warren's?
