Steve Irwin
Its 3 years already since Steve's death, time flies doesn't it.
Steve stands, or rather crouches, at 12 inches tall so the croc would be about 7 to 8 feet long.
This is a limited edition production #1312 of 5000 and I am proud to show my appreciation of Steve and to applaud the ongoing work of his widow Terri, both at Australia Zoo with its magnificent wildlife hospital, and in the acquisition and development of land suitable for establishing wildlife refuges for endangered species.

Just when I thought I had finished this post I found the local bookstore had put Terri Irwin's book "My Steve" on special so I've added it in.

Thanks for the link for the Project 2996. I signed up to do it again, and it is an honor to pay tribute to those we lost on 9-11-01. So many people died in New York City, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. who were from all over the world on that horrible day. They deserve to be remembered.
It's hard to believe that three years have passed since Steve Irwin's death. His wife and kids are wonderful. I know his wife is carrying on his work, and I'm sure his kids will do the same. They will always be very proud of their wonderful daddy.
The world lost a very good man the day he died.

I gave that book to my daughter as a gift...she's a real Steve Irwin fan. I love that statuette, Peter. Have you noticed the big billboard on the side of the Bruce at Beerwah has been changed. It still advertises Australia Zoo, but has Terri and the kids now instead of Steve. Fair enough, I guess, as she is now running the place.
Three years...it's gone fast but it still seems ages ago. I don't think he will ever be forgotten, purely by hearing the word "Crikey" will evoke memories of Steve.

Steve was an ambassador of Australia, all that's good down under and he is and will continue to be missed by many including me.
It's amazing how many times he got me to smile when I heard his twanged "Crikey!" or when he did something I considered so dangerous. I think most animals knew Steve would never hurt them.. and they showed him respect too.
Steve was one of those larger-than-life characters. I hope he doesn't inspire too many imitators though. I saw one bozo on Animal Planet trying to handle a deadly snake and talking in the animated manner than Irwin did. Sure enough, the snake bit him. There was only one Irwin, and it should remain like that.
It doesn't seem like it's has been three years. I didn't know about the book.

You keep him and his message alive.
You can never say to much about someones passion as Steve's was with nature
seems impossible --- 3 years.
