Cynical Cyn

Readers unite, I have found a really good site with funny
and topical content which seems to be getting almost no
response for effort, now I know we al have pretty full
blogrolls, and time just gets away, but do yourselves a
favour and visit "Cynical Cyn" if you enjoy her work please
tell her, she just doesn’t get the comments we need to
produce our best.

This was Cyn’s post pre thanksgiving 2004

Enjoy, here is a bonus chuckle for today!!

'TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING, BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS, I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED - THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.

SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.

I GOBBLED UP
TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES, .
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND

I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.

BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY, MAY YOUR
TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP,

MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS
.

Peter, that is so funny! I am going to check out Cyn in a minute.

Thanks for the kind comments on my photo; of course, I don't look much like that now - 41 years later! Some day, when I get brave, I'll post a current photo.

Thanks for the tip. I went and visited Cynical Cyn and enjoyed her writing.

Am feeling very grateful. Weighed myself this morning and since I didn't gain any pounds, guess the Thanksgiving dinner stayed of my thighs.

Cynical Cyn is funny. I never made the connection between the 12-minute halftime break of a football game and the 12 minutes it takes to eat a Thanksgiving dinner. The Detroit Lions have always played on Thanksgiving too. The way they have been playing lately, though, we can take our time eating. The Lions are usually done by halftime, just like the turkey.

Hea, I wanted to mention that you (well, your links here) inspired my own latest blog, Be Merry, Be Happy.
