RIP Sandra

I am saddened today by the loss of a cousin, she was

Sandra Denise Booker (nee Athorn) 14 Mar 19375 Jan 2007

Sandy was 1 year younger than I, and was as far as I can remember
the first girl I had a crush on, this was way back when we were only
kids and long before I was to learn that first cousins and crushes were
a taboo combination.

While growing up Sandy remained one of my favourite cousins but sadly
we lost contact many years ago, she leaves behind a husband and
3 children, my sympathy goes out to them as they farewell Sandy.

I will not be able to attend the funeral service which will be in far off
Melbourne
but as a family tradition it is likely my Sister Merle will make
it, I hope so.

RIP Sandy.

Hi Peer ~~ A nice tribute, although she was never Sandy to me, and most of us called her Sandra. I hadn't seen her for a few years, as she lived in Rosebud. With John away, I
won't be able to attend unfortunately
Take care, Merle.

Well, Peter, we both lost cousins this week. I found an obit in my home-town newspaper (online) this am. I have not seen this guy since our grandmother died 35 years ago, and I will not be able to attend his funeral either. He was the youngest of 3 boys, and the older ones are still alive. Doesn't seem fair.

Peter, my condolences. Here's hoping that Sandy, aka Sandra, lived a fulfilling life. My guess is that she served others, cared about those she served and shared the love in her heart. She sure made a positive impression upon you.

You may not be able to make it to the funeral physically, but you will be there in spirit.

Take care, mate.

Sorry to hear about your loss. That song that's playing today on your blog was one of my dad's favorites. I may have to come back later just to hear it again.
