Fun Monday Feb. 18

Sayre has set the assignment for this week.

Here are da rules

http://sayresmiles.blogspot.com/

Every day as I go to work, I see things around me that make me laugh. Usually these are in the forms of signs.
So take your camera with you as you go about your business and take a picture of the things that make you laugh along the way (but it doesn't necessarily HAVE to be a sign).

Now this assignment may seem perfectly fair to most of you, and I’m willing to concede that the part to which I take exception was in all probability not intended to put limits on my ability to partake in this week’s assignment.

But the plain and simple fact of the matter is I do not any longer “go to work” or in fact “go about my business” since retiring, I now do nothing, and I do it very well too.

Rather than let this stop me from having a Fun Monday I snapped some signs that appealed to my sense of humour and have included them here.

While Bazza's hamburgers are "famous" mainly in his own mind I admire his flair for advertising and his grasp of the Australian language.

There is a ginger processing factory located not far from my home, they make clever use of the "Gingerbread Man" in their advertising as these two roadside signs show.

Click to enbiggen these pics.

This last one is a statement as much as a humourous sign.

Now would be a good chance to go and visit some more players from Sayre's list, who knows you may even find some "normal" people there.

The Ginger Co. signs are great, Peter. I've seen the last one here in the US, too.

Oh yeah stick it to McDs, I like that one.

What, there are normal people?

I don't like normal people Peter, that's why I'm here.
The signs are all good ones.

Those are all hilarious. I especially like the Ginger Factory signs!

Great signs!! The last one is funny!! I do not go to work out of the house so I had a time deciding what to do!!

I'm with you on that retired thing Peter! Good for us--we can just go out whenever we please looking for anything that tickles our fancy. Ginger Co. needs to really reward their PR team--very clever ads.

Well at least you were able to find some humorous signs which is more than this retired person could!

I hope you are enjoying your retirement.

I do go to work and go about my business, yet I had nothing funny to post either.

I love all of your signs! The gingerbread head one was my favorite.

Those are great. I've seen the last one on someones bumper and it makes me wonder if the police are more prone to pull those cars over...

Hmmmm, me thinks you bent the rules a bit, too ;). Nothin' wrong with that, I say, especially on Fun Mondays :).

All of the ones you posted gave me reason to smile, and isn't that the goal of FM anyway?

:)

The gingerbread signs are my favorite. We have a sign in our little 'not-even-a-stoplight town' that says "Pearson's, Best Cheeseburgers in Town"....They have the ONLY cheeseburgers so that ain't sayin' much! Jen

oh cute... this is the first Fun Mon I've read. Just got home.
This would have been enjoyable - except I'm not sure there are any signs around here that amuse me.

Yours certainly do it for me. I love to bite off heads. Such an old crank!!

Mmmm, I'll take one of Bazza's burgers, do they come with lots of beetroot and extra sauce?

And ummm I don't go to meeting either!

LOL @ the Gingerbread! This sounds like fun. I'll have to get in on this Monday fun ;)

I love the gingerbread signs and I don't think I would be advertising it if I were a drunk.....Have a good day!

TF bought me a new camera for my Birthday on Monday and I still can't figure out how to use it. It has so many bells and whistles on it that I might never figure it out. All I want to do is take a picture.

I have also seen a different line for the last sign..."Alcoholics are Quitters"!
