Another health update

A very proud Dad and his lovely Daughter

Hi all, the appointment with the specialist has come and gone for Vicki, I’m sorry to report there is still very little that is definite from him though.

Cushing’s disease has been definitely confirmed, but I’m at a loss to understand whether this has caused the tumor or the tumor is the reason for Cushing’s, there have been more tests scheduled to help plan the best treatment course, one can only say that they are being very thorough which is no doubt best in the long run but it is starting to get very drawn out.

Partly because of the farm work that Rex has to get on with, I have decided to fly to Adelaide on Sunday so that I’m there for Vicki should Rex need to get home (don’t forget that is 600 klm away from Adelaide with no air service) this may save Vicki a return trip if she needs to keep doctors appointments.

I very much look forward to the day I can write that her surgery is over and she is bouncing back to full health, (we are all confident that day is coming) but at present this is the best that I can do.

Let me once more thank you all for your prayers, kind and supportive words, and for caring enough to pass them on, we love you one and all and will never forget the warmth you have sent to us.

From Vicki, Rex, and Family and from Peter.

That is a lovely photo of the two of you.
I know the waiting must be awful but to me it sounds good to be thorough and as you say probably best long run. Continued best wishes.

God bless you guys. (On another note, your daughter looks remarkably like a mix of cousins on both my mom and dad's side of the family. I think we're loooooooooooooooong lost relatives.)

You are all in my heart and prayers.

I might suggest that you get a copy of Eckhart Tolle's book, A New Earth. It is something that just might bring you all some solace at this trying time.

May love, peace and serenity be with you all.

Hi Peter ~~ Vicki sent me the info about how they are re-doing all the tests and getting it right before treatment. The waiting is so hard for everyone, but so long as she gets the best treatment and gets restored to health, that's the main thing. I am so glad you are FLYING to Adelaide tomorrow. Better than driving all the way, especially when you are worried. Glad you will be there with Vicki and Rex to share the load. Have a safe trip and stay in touch. Lovely photo
taken here (probably by Rex, possibly by me)Love, always, Merle.

I just love the picture of you and Vicki. I know how drawn-out things can get...and it's often the hardest part of all. I'm glad you're flying to Adelaide Peter...probably the best thing to do at for all involved. We'll be thinking of you, Vicki and Rex....keep your faith sweet guy....believe me, it will matter. Hugs....~Joy

Hi Dad & All the Blogging Gang
Your support, prayers and best wishes mean the world to us,THANKYOU.
Counting the hours now till you get here Dad.
I was frustrated with the Doctor's visit outcome, but am resigned to getting it all sorted before surgery - as usual I never do anything the easy way so should have expected this. Really wanted to be getting well again before seeding - which could be any time from now till July, they are predicting a later season opener, so might still achieve that.
Farming is such an unpredictable occupation, but it is "in the blood" for those born to it so we just go with the flow and manage with whatever God provides.
Take care friends
Love Vicki
XOXOXOXOX

Hi Peter, I wasn't aware that Vicki is ill, and I'm not sure what Cushings is but if she needs surgery I shall definately keep her in my thoughts and prayers, along with you too. Looking forward to your positive results post :)

Just popped over for an update...haven't been blog-visiting much the past week.
That is a beautiful picture of you guys !
Thanks for the update. Waiting on an 'exact' diagnosis is not easy. Wishing all of you calming rest and a dose of patience.

OH MY! Cushings Disease is what my neighbor (five houses down) had. It took them WAY TOO LONG to finally diagnose it. By that time she was very ill.

She had surgery in SEattle. She's still recuping but she is looking so good. (She's in her 60's) I was just shocked at how wonderful she seemed - almost her old self already.
