Fun Monday - May 12

Hope all the Moms had a nice "Mothers Day"

Fun Monday May 12

Beverly http://saunteringsoul.blogspot.com/

Here are da rules.

Bev says;

I know we all try to be sweet and kind to people the majority of the time. But let's face it....we also know that sometimes we can be a big jerk. It could be that you experience road rage from time to time. Come on - it's confession time! List the small things you do that make you a jerk and elaborate just a bit on each one. Please tell me I'm not the only jerk around here!

OK, now this one should be a cinch, most of us are jerks now and again and I’m sure people who know me are nodding their heads vigorously when thinking of me being a jerk!!!

Just for openers; I’m a male and its well known (within female circles) that this means an inherent ability to not see clutter, creases, dust and other things like that, so to a little more than half the worlds population I guess that qualifies as jerkiness, strike 1.

I don’t participate in memes or fwd on all those “nice” little things with pretty pictures and soppy music, strike 2.

While I do get annoyed by discourteous drivers I don’t suffer from Road Rage as such, and I’ve driven far enough over a lot of years to realize that I do occasionally make mistakes too,
strike 3.

I have also spent enough frustrated hours at a computer to know that I’m far from an expert with an even temper, strike 4.

My experience as a husband of 40 odd (very odd!!) years with two different ladies (not at the same time…. I’m not that deeply into self destruction) has certainly taught me that I have the ability to annoy the hell out of any lady who is unlucky enough to be Mrs Right, strike 5 (Affidavits available on request from said wives).

I have the ability to forget names within minutes of hearing them, and faces within days so a lot of people probably see this as the behavior of a jerk, not realizing its just one of the prices that we pay for getting old, strike 6.

I think that I’ve dug this hole deep enough now so I’m gonna stop before I bury myself, I’m going to claim that “getting old” thing as the excuse for many of the traits that I have that other people find a bit annoying, just wait a few more years all you baby boomers, you’re turn is coming up FAST.

Now go and visit some more Fun Mondayers at Sauntering Souls and let me get back to my nanna nap.

Being a jerk may just be in the mind of the beholder. Or not.

I will never confess to being a jerk. That might only perpetuate my irritating behaviors.

With age comes wisdom, or the propensity to take longer naps!

Love the hole digger!

Forgetting names has nothing to do with age! I do it all the time, I think its because I like to meet too many new people! Thats my story and Im sticking to it!

I don't hold much faith in the thought of "all men are...", I have known many women to hold the same "stereotypes"....

Hope all is well with Vickie, both of you have been in my thoughts lately.

Hi Peter ~~ Well done on the post.
Thanks for sending Ann's e mail on.
I have no idea why the e mail was returned. I sent 2 to Jan today and they were both returned saying there was no room in her inbox. She was in Melbourne at weekend, not sure if she is home. Hope Vicki is getting a lot less pain by now. I have got behind reading papers and answering mail. Had a nice weekend with Geoff & Jo on Saturday, and John & Heather Sunday. Had a few minor problems with my health, but feel OK the last few days. Love to
all the Fosters and yourself.Merle.

Gidday Peter,

Waal I must admit (with tongue firmly placed in cheek) that I can relate (not really) to a lot of what you say applies to you also applies to me.
It's not getting old...it's gotten old....hahahaha!!!!!!
Ah, well one can't help "good luck".

OH wow... how many words can you type here? *LOL*

Where would I even start.. about being a jerk.. ~frown~

Love your post Peter and the hole digging is hilarious :)

Hmmm...if you are born with a certain character trait does that make you a jerk? I mean, just because you are male doesn't mean you must be bad, right? heh heh heh

Forgetting a name is not Jerky exactly. Depends on who the forget-ee is; if it was one of those wives and it could be jerky for sure.

Love the hole digging graphics!

I forget names and faces too so Karisma is right, it's definitely not an age thing, and I am also pretty messy - for a girl ;)

Sayre said...

Can I borrow your excuse for being a jerk? 46 is old enough, don't you think?

Faye said...

Spoken like a true Philosopher Jerk! Actually I don't think your sins are that great--and believe me I too am old enough to spot a jerk when I meet one. . .

All the best to you and yours, Peter.

Something tells me you're not a jerk at all....

I'll be turning 40 this summer and I'm going to start blaming my jerkiness on old age at that point.

I don't see nothing qualifying you in this post as being a jerk so I guess you have to keep trying LMAO

I wanted to say something a bit off color ... but I guess I'll not be a jerk and say it. (giggle)

I am right there with you in strikes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. So I think those are fine qualities, not symptoms of jerkhood!
