Accidental damage

Its a sad day at holtieshouse!!!!!!

If you really want to see more of the damage click on photos to enbiggen them.

A lapse of concentration for just a couple of seconds is all it takes....
(But you knew that already,right?)
I was crossing the Gateway Bridge in Brisbane and found myself in the wrong lane, a quick glance in the rear view mirror told me I couldn't change lanes safely right then so I returned my attention to the road in front of me.... Just in time to see the traffic in my lane had stopped.... Ouch!!!! you can see the result in these photos.

The vehicle in front of me was a Ford Falcon station wagon with a BIG tow hitch... it suffered no damage while my poor little i30 came out with serious damage, fortunately no people or animals were injured in the making of this blog post so that at least is a good thing, now I just have a session in front of me with my insurance company and a period without my car while it gets fixed DRAT!!!

Hi Peter ~~ I am so sorry you had that accident. The main thing is you
and the other driver were not hurt.
And I guess the car is well insured.
It shakes you up though as no doubt
you have learnt. Robyn said you had gout. I thought I was the only one with gout. (Little old beer drinker me. I hope it doesn't take too long to get the car back on the road.
Love, Merle.

Sometimes feelings can hurt as bad as some injuries.

I hope your i30 is back in tip top shape in no time.

Peter, I can't believe it. You drive thousands of miles all over AU and have a wreck close to home. I'm sorry! Hope you are unscathed.

they say most accidents happen within a few miles of home...

glad no one was hurt!

oh peter... glad to hear no one was hurt. even a little fender bender can cause one to be sore and achy.

I'm really glad you are okay Peter. It only takes a moment for these things to happen.....look away for a second and then BOOM!

I know it's annoying, but having the car repaired is far better than you or the other driver having to be repaired.

I loved your story about how it all began!! LOL

Bugger! That looks expensive, Peter. That Gateway is horrible. With the road workings and all, I took the wrong lane, had to turn off at Lytton and get home through Kangaroo Point...quite the scenic route.

Glad you are ok dad and hope the car is back on the road quickly.
Love Lyn x

Hi Peter ~~ I tried to ring you tonight to see if you are OK.
You must have been shaken up and in
shock. I figured if you were at Warren's place, you might be on the computer. Are you still able to go to Vicki's birthday? I was very pleased to get an invite, but of course, I can't go. Look after yourself. Love, Merle.

Oh wow... I'm so sorry for the accident Peter...! I know how you love your car.

Hopefully it won't take long and it'll be as good as new.

If they'll ship it to Nebraska I have a couple of boys who can get it in the body shop right away. You could stay with us til it's done.
