Unusual rock formations on the shore of a lake in Burma.
reflected in the still waters
Shown in vertical plane for special emphasis.
Scottsdale Golf Club
I am told that this is an actual sign, posted at a golf club in
1. BACK STRAIGHT, KNEES BENT, FEET SHOULDER WIDTH APART.
2. FORM A LOOSE GRIP.
3. KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN!
4. AVOID A QUICK BACK SWING.
5. STAY OUT OF THE WATER.
6. TRY NOT TO HIT ANYONE.
7. IF YOU ARE TAKING TOO LONG, LET OTHERS GO AHEAD OF YOU.
8. DON'T STAND DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OTHERS.
9. QUIET PLEASE...WHILE OTHERS ARE PREPARING.
10. DON'T TAKE EXTRA STROKES.
WELL DONE. - NOW FLUSH THE URINAL, GO OUTSIDE, & TEE OFF
I included that so that I could refer back to my post about the Gold Cross Golf Club
and include this old photograph that Jan has sent me. BTW for any newcomers to
Jan's site please have a listen to the music, that is the Aussie legend, the late
Slim Dusty singing "G'day, G'day"
In the middle row 2nd and 3rd from left are the two Georges who started the
whole thing off, George Honey (with the tie) has his son Ron in front of him,
(Ron's son makes the third generation of the family in the club).
Alan is on the right of George Honey and a little further along that same row is
someone you all know well (cute ain't he) front row far left is Brian, who is the
one who sparked off this memory.
This photo was taken on probably our second "Trip Away Weekend" at the
coastal Victorian town of Queenscliff, we are proudly displaying our trophies
and spoils of the weekend.
UPDATE; did you read Jan's comment? Only 8 of the 19 in the photo are still
alive today.... THAT"S SCARY.
And this was just too cute to leave out.

I can believe that sign exists to help pgolfers warm up before they tee off.
Nice picture of the begining of a long tradition.
Its nice having something from an events first conception.
Not only is it nostalgic but also a direct link to memories and feelings.
Have a nice day
That's a very handsome photo, Peter. I love the sign from the Scottsdale Club...nice to know they have a sense of humour (at least one supposes so).
Collecting moths...out of the mouths of babes.
Hi Peter,Nice to see you use the Photo, did you relize theres only 8 from that photo still with us today. Take care, Jan
Love the Scottsdale sign, Peter!!
The photo of the golfers is priceless. Glad you posted it.
My favorite urinal sign: We aim to please; you aim too, please.
Regarding your comment on my blog, Minnesota is a couple states over from where I live here in Michigan. However, my brother was supposed to travel back to South Dakota this week and would have had to cross the Mississippi, I believe around the twin cities. I'll bet he'll hold his breath when he drives across the bridge this time.
Love the Scottsdale sign, take care and enjoy life my friend.
WOW - that lake shore is incredible - one of the best rock formations/likenesses I have seen!
LOL at the golf sign! What a riot.
Have a great day!!
Your little girl is going to be somebody, some day.
Isn't that an amazing rock formation ... I've received that in an email before, but it is always great to see.
Love the golf sign ... too funny !!
Hope you are well, Peter.
Take care, Meow
The sign over the urinal at our club says:
This is the only place on this golf course where someone won't try to change your grip.
Hahaha...have a great weekend, Peter. :)
Great photos. Saw the one of the rock formations. Never saw the one of the golf clubs.
Will look for the sign at any golf clubs I might go to.
Young mothers, indeed. Collecting moths is an educational activity.
Hi Peter ~~ I have seen the rock formations before - incredible.
Great sign at Golf Club and nice photo of your early golf days.
Wasn't just yesterday, was it?
